Next-Gen gives young athletes an organized place to learn the game through age-appropriate rules, meaningful repetitions, teamwork, and competition.
Play. Eight regular-season games beginning November 28.
Learn. Man-to-man defense with no zones, pressing, or trapping.
Compete. A 10-game minimum with postseason dates February 6 and 13.

League rules & gym guidelines
Game format +
Two 20-minute halves, four-minute halftime, one timeout per half, scheduled start times, and sudden-death overtime for ties.
Grade-specific play +
2nd grade plays at 9 feet. 3rd grade plays at 10 feet unless a team requests 9 feet. Free throws may be taken from 8 or 10 feet.
Defense and development +
Man-to-man defense only. No zone defense, full-court pressing, or trapping. First-half defenders may not steal off the dribble. Second-half steals are permitted, with officials watching for contact.
Facility and admission +
Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before game time. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $1 for school-age children. Athletes should bring clean court shoes.
Sportsmanship +
Coaches are responsible for team and fan behavior. Constant arguing with officials will not be tolerated.

Bring your community team to Next-Gen.
Registration is for complete community teams submitted by an authorized organization director or coach. Individual player registration is not available.
